Prosperity is a 3000-acre working dairy and beef farm situated in the picturesque Kamberg Valley. It offers peace, tranquillity and a number of outdoor activities as well as being on the Midlands Meander arts and crafts route. For the fly fishing enthusiast, the well-stocked trout waters are set in beautiful surroundings and include 4 dams and six kilometres of winding Little Mooi River, catering for all grades of fishermen. Prosperity allows you to ply your gentle art in a relaxed environment, whilst listening to the variety of sounds generated from the abundant bird life. Surrounded by indigenous bush and natural veld carpeted in flowers, this is the ideal location to de-stress and enjoy the country air. Reedbuck, duiker and blesbuck are often spotted in the area. Accommodation Prosperity offers the following self catering options: 3 large comfortable bedrooms all en-suite with a communal kitchen, or 1 cottage with its own kitchen. Rod fees - R100 per rod per day Credit cards All major credit cards accepted Activities There are a variety of activities available in the Midlands, namely:- Hot air ballooning, candle dipping, quad biking, are additional activities offered in the Nottingham Road area, a short distance from the farm. Horse riding with experienced guides and horseman in the Natal Drakensberg and see some of Africa’s wonderful mountainous regions and wildlife. Game include Eland, Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Duiker, Jackal and a wide variety of wonderful bird life. Day trails usually last for 4 hours, or the 2 day trail staying overnight in tents in the mountains, or cottages and returning the following day. Clay-pigeon Shooting – offered in two packages: The first package offers 28 clays released from a single trap. The second package offers also 28 clays but the clays are released from multiple traps, which becomes more challenging. Package one will cost R400 per person whereas package two will cost R425 per person. Flyfishing Wildfly offers guided fishing trips and clinics with qualified, experienced guides to a selection of 25 Stillwater’s and 24km’s of scheduled river. Clinic packages are available in Half day (4 hours) and full day (8 hours) clinics. Guiding and Clinic fees are charged per person: Half day Clinic – R495 per Angler. This includes rod fees and guiding fees with an additional manual explaining all the theory of fly-fishing. Full day Clinic - R885 per Angler. This option goes into more detail about the theory of fly-fishing and includes a light finger lunch. Fly-fishing Clinics and Guided Adventures can be tailor made to suite your party or clients needs. For the more energetic folk, Prosperity also offers tennis, hiking, bird watching and mountain biking. |
